They say after 7 years of famine, follows 7 years of feast. We have seen post war fashion was all about colour, print and volume and now following the C word, summer of 2025 is all about excess. Accessories are having a big moment. Social media is filled with videos from arm cuffing and stacking to neck scarves and the perfect knot. Unless you have been living under a rock you would have seen the gazillion content creators showing us how we can take an everyday outfit from a 4 to an 8 using accessories to make or break an outfit. Even our accessories are getting accessories! Handbags are going back to school with keyrings, scarves and a hanging versions of our troll dolls, the Labubu. I will stand proud and say that all this is my full personality and pretty much my go to style aesthetic. Keep your clothes simple but your accessories loud. I have been screaming this from the rooftops for as long as I can remember.
Accessories should not be an afterthought but a statement. They should be collected and hunted down with the passion of a pirate looking for gold. They should tell a story. They should be family heirlooms or the macaroni necklace your child created. There is no right or wrong or too much or too little, this is where you get to show your style and your personality.
Patrica Field, stylist extraordinaire and best known as the wardrobe stylist for Sex And The City, knows the strength of a good accessory. She made the corsage in the early 2000’s a fashion must have and turned the name tag necklace into such an icon that it’s still adorned on necks of ladies from 12 to fifty. I do not take accessories lightly and it's not often there is an accessory moment I haven't seen and tried before…. Until now!
Last week I posted some inspiration to gauge the thoughts of my followers and of course it came with a bottle of marmite. Some were drooling with excitement, while others simply asked WTAF. But I'm telling you now, this is a micro trend that's going to take off.
Ladies and ladies, I give you this summer's accessory craze, the embellished ankles.
How to wear them?
There are absolutely no rules and I would encourage you to try and express yourself as much as possible. Go classic with quiet luxury with a simple single chain or go big with layering and even throw in a scarf. Wear them on your holiday with a swimsuit but even better wear them in city living with a pair of mesh ballet pumps and cut off jeans. Or try with a pair of jorts and sandals. The office is not off limits and I would go with loafers, a midi skirt and blazer. Go on and make this trend your own.
Where to buy them?
No matter your budget or taste there is an anklet right for you. I have selected a few I love ranging in design and price but you can get one from high street to high brow. I have even added a personalised one which would make for an amazing gift. From crystals, to beads, from chains to charms I’ve got you covered.

Why you should try this trend?
This is a fun and a cost effective trend to buy into. You will probably find most of your bracelets fit around your ankle or your necklace wrapped twice. I also think its an accessible and easy trend to pull off no matter your body shape so this one everyone can be apart of which makes for a nice change
Theres not much left to ay really other than, shave those legs, throw on the self tan cause this much ignored area of your body is finally getting its moment to shine.
Have a lovely week and I’ll see you soon
